05Our process

From the first discussion to handover.

The process follows your project stage and the responsibilities agreed with Tradehive.

  1. Understand the project

    We review your brief, available documents, location and target timeframe, with a site assessment where needed.

  2. Agree the engagement

    We establish whether you need Design & Build, construction from existing plans or a specialist package, and define the initial scope, responsibilities and commercial arrangements.

  3. Develop the details

    For Design & Build, the appointed professionals develop the agreed design. For construction from existing plans and subcontract packages, we review the supplied documents and resolve outstanding information. Scope, pricing and scheduling are developed accordingly.

  4. Prepare and build

    With the necessary approvals and agreements in place, we coordinate procurement, mobilize the team and carry out the works against the agreed drawings and programme.

  5. Inspect and hand over

    We inspect the completed works, address items identified for completion and provide the agreed handover documentation.

Stages may overlap or vary according to the project and agreed scope.

Can we inquire without completed plans or a BOQ?

Yes. Tell us what you want to build or improve, where the project is, and the approximate size and timeframe. An initial brief, site photographs, or reference images can begin the discussion. We will help identify the design and construction requirements for the engagement.

How do we choose between Design & Build and construction from existing plans?

Design & Build suits projects where design development and construction need to be coordinated within one engagement. Construction from existing plans suits clients who already have an appointed design team and project documents. We can review your project stage and discuss which arrangement fits. Design services are included only where expressly identified in the proposal.

Can you work with our existing architect or design team?

Yes. We can undertake construction from your team’s plans and coordinate the work with them. If the design is still developing, we establish the information, appointments, and responsibilities needed before proceeding.

Do you visit the site before preparing a quotation?

Where the scope or existing conditions require it, we arrange a site visit to assess access, site conditions, and other factors that affect the work. Send your available documents first so we can discuss whether a visit is needed and coordinate the arrangements.

Can renovation or fit-out work proceed while the property remains occupied?

This depends on the proposed work, safe access, building restrictions, and how the property is used. We discuss these conditions when planning the sequence and schedule. Some activities may require restricted access or temporary arrangements for occupants or business operations.

Can you handle both construction and the supply of materials?

Yes. We offer construction and supply services, which can be engaged together or separately. For a combined requirement, the proposal identifies the construction scope and the materials or equipment to be supplied, with responsibilities, specifications, and delivery arrangements agreed for the project.

How do you establish the construction schedule?

We develop the schedule around the agreed scope, site conditions, access, material lead times, and coordination with other trades. For subcontract packages, we coordinate our work with the main contractor’s overall schedule. Share your target dates so we can assess them against the project requirements.

How do we invite Tradehive to bid?

Send your invitation, scope of work, available drawings, BOQ or specifications, and submission deadline through our inquiry form. Include the project location and any accreditation requirements so our team can review the opportunity and identify any further information needed.
